INTERNET - a world of its own, consisting of computers,
programmes, people, TCP/IP, routes to host machines, 
netiquette, www ... and of:

WIRES, WIRES, WIRES - who would even attempt to count
their number or estimate their total length?

and - within the WIRES -
        "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it"

we want to invite YOU to follow us walking around
INTERNET. we would especially like to draw your attention
to places, people and events that exist BEYOND the
glamourous surface of the world wide web.

BEYOND the WWW is the place where the CULTURE of the Internet 
has evolved within the first twenty years of this former
research network. a culture which favors the FREE FLOW
of INFORMATION, supports cooperation, offers various 
possibilities of communication, the place where Netizens live 
who express a sense of community, where elegant hacks 
and humor are appreciated and censorship is frowned upon.
